Footing

Yesterday we headed out to the property to watch them pour the footing. Everything was ready:

The concrete trucks got lost - so we had time to enjoy the view:

The trucks arrived:

And Dwight and Dwayne came through for us again:

So we headed down the street to Keokea for a dip:

update

You'll notice the large gap in time since the last post. Quite a lot has happened since then, it's just that not a lot of it had to do with the house. Billy has been working unbelievably long hours at his day/evening/predawn job (almost 80 hours this week!) and hasn't had a day off to relax in over 6 weeks. these photos will fill in some of that gap and my next post will bring us up to date.

Building forms for the footing:

Cyrus has been a big help:

Tutu was here to help Auntie Malia move up to waimea and sqeezed in a couple of days with us. We hiked into Pololu Valley and found a geocache:

The girls and I trekked down to the other side of the island to help on the final day of Malia's move and discovered that it really is another world down there. Yes- that really is a ZEBRA in the background!

Billy spent Saturday helping John at his property and then they spent Sunday at our place.

Billy moved the sand pile off of the house pad while John moved the dirt with the backhoe - Thanks, John-

property panoramic

I took these photos the other day at sunset. I took them from where the house will be starting at the valleys (southeast) and panning north around to the west about 220 degrees total.

The sun rises over the water between the palm on the left and the pine in the distance in this next photo.
