Here is the overall shot from the top of the driveway:
Here is the kitchen ( the sink will be under the windows on the left and the range will be between the windows on the right, with the fridge on the wall opposite the sink. There will be an eat-at bar counter between where I am standing and the sink coming out from the sink wall so you will enter the kitchen on the right near the fridge... clear as mud - yes?!):
Here is the living room window (kitchen is to the right):
Here is what it looks like from outside (kitchen is in the corner - living room window on the right:
The front door from inside (sorry - can't get this one to rotate):
And from the outside (yes, way up there! That is the window in the master bedroon to the right of the door):
Tim was up on Sunday to help Billy out:

Raising walls
visitors
More walls
Almost all of the walls are up. Here's the view from the top of the driveway.
And here is a view from the kitchen corner. You can see we've backfilled around the CMU wall and also that the last walls that need to go up are the kitchen wall on the ocean end and the wall between the living area and the lanai:

First "house" guests
This was the weekend that our floors were laid (several weeks ago). Carol and Terry Bennett were visiting the island from Portland and became our first house guests! I used to nanny for them and their 3 kids who are now all grown up and older than I was when I took care of them! Carol and Terry are 2 of my most favorite people - how cool that they were the first visitors in (on?) our new house!

Taking shape
Here you can see the results of the backfilling.
This corner will eventually lead up some stairs to the front door:
No more pit around the house to swallow up small children.
And the lay out happened last weekend so now you can see the rooms taking shape. This closest corner is the girls' room. The living area is in the distance and the kitchen in the corner at the other end (the bottom of the "L". Between the girls' room and the kitchen on the back edge is the kids' bath and the office/guest room.
